Good, better, best

I found this little black lacquered desk a couple of months ago when I was setting up shop. It filled the space nicely but I’ve always thought it was pretty blah. I wanted to jazz it up for the open house so I started out by sanding up the surface, getting rid of the glossy finish and letting some original white paint peek through. Then I removed the drawer pulls and replaced them with chunky old white porcelain doorknobs. I love old doorknobs and use them in lots of different projects. If I find them for under 10. I buy them. What a big difference that made. I couldn’t leave well enough alone so I rummaged through Jana’s store and found a cute little white shelf, screwed it into place, added a little key embellishment and voila! Very cute!

I love blogs। All kinds of blogs। I live to create whether it's a gift for someone special, a dress for my daughter, or a meal for my family. It's who I am and how I show love. I get inspiration from many different sources, books, magazines, workshops, friends and mostly blogs. About 4 years ago a google search for 'vintage birds' lead to my first blog encounter "the feathered nest". A whole new world opened up for me that day. I linked from blog to blog until my head spun and my screaming babies brought me back to earth. Now I start each morning bright and early while the house is still quiet with my coffee and laptop. I guess it's my morning meditation. Thank you to the hundreds of bloggers who share their creativity and give me my daily dose of inspiration.
