Sometimes a picture is worth a 1000 words.

All of the photos are from the book The Well -Dressed Home, by Annette Tatum, she has given me some serious inspiration for my bedroom make-over.  Annette has a very cool approach to decorating.
All of the items shown are listed in my etsy shop,
but the robin's egg caramel's are all mine!

Baskets big & small

I have been making little baskets to give to friends & to sell. I love putting together Easter baskets for my kids, picking things that are special to each one. And I loved getting my Easter surprise when I was little. So who says we're too old for Easter baskets?

These little goodie baskets started out as 6 pack egg cartons.  Painted, stained & stuffed with goodness.

A pocket for hidden treasures.

Decoupaged prism's,

lace, flowers & bling, oh my!

Adorned with vintage buckles & satin ribbon.

And I'm obsessed with making these little resin bobble charm thingies.

I got a little inpatient & opened this one too soon, see the goo?
There are so many things you can do with them.

This one has string & beads inside.  I'm working on a bundle of these charms for my etsy shop.
I embellished a tag with this one.

Amazing. I wish I more to give-away but for now the winner of my Thank you give-away basket is..............
Please contact me with your address Tracy & I'll send it to you.

Instant gratification

I just love the way everyone dressess up these $1 pillars, I needed a quick gift, so this was how I embellished mine. I collect reglious post cards & think this one is lovely.

Please use it if you like, I printed it onto vellum & it looked so pretty.

Then I picked up some different lavender soaps (her favorite) & fluffed them all up.
Karla's Cottage did a Valentine decorating post showing how she pretties up those ugly pump soaps. It kind of inspired me.
For this one I just photo copied a cabinet card photo & covered with vellum.

Secured with striaght pins, hope some unknowing guest doesn't really try to use this! Ouch!
I love instant gratification!

Friday night my art group got together to make up for last weeks snow storm. Boy did we have fun! I am not sure we accomplished a whole lot, but we laughed, shared ideas & talked about new projects. What fun to spend time with 10 highly creative & talented friends.

A Bottle & a prayer

This bottle was made to honor my Grandmother Francis. I called her Tutu which is Hawaiian for Grandmother. We lived in Hawaii when I was learning to speak.

Are you getting tired of seeing my bottles? I hope not because I love making them.

I love to use transferred images in my work. For this bottle I copied Tutu's picture onto crinoline fabric. It is very stiff stuff, so I cut it the size of copy paper & feed it into my printer.

I am always on the lookout for funky pieces of junk to use for toppers, this one is an old lamp finial I took apart.

For this one I used a very old carved brass doorknob.  Love the way it looks on this bottle.

And here's the image transfer again.  This time I applied a piece of old sheet music onto an old coin purse, then laid a tape transfer of the photo on top.

This girl on this bottle is my Great, Great Aunt Annie.  These are part of a series I did called 'Family Album', I posted about the 3rd bottle here.

I got some great comments regarding the printers box I posted here.  I should have told you the source of this awesome case of goodness.  Junker Val is junker extraordinaire.  You can find her loading goodies into her booth at Lonestar Antique Mall in Fort Worth, or link to her website.  She really has some awesome things!
One more thing, I did not alter this box in any way for the photo. It was wrapped tight in plastic wrap & when Val unwrapped it this is what I saw. Dawn said it's already a wonderful assemblage, I think it will be difficult to use any of this. I think I'll just leave it out on my art table for inspiration!

Guess what.....I found my camera! I believe there is power in numbers & I had some blog prayers helping me out! Thank you to everyone who helped.  And in case you ever lose anything.... I remembered our version of the prayer to Saint Anthony.  It really works, you have to recite it over & over while looking for your lost item.
Dear Saint Anthony please come down,
I've lost something that can't be found,
if you find it bring it to me,
oh how happy I will be.
