Christmas House 2012

So where have I been the past 7 months??
Crazy busy raising triplets!!!!
There's been some major remodeling happening too, but that's a whole other post.
But I'm back, & want to share my holiday decorating with you!

I'm calling my theme this year 'Found Nature'.
I had so much fun just gathering things from inside & out. Then mixing it up with greens & lots of vintage silver, & gold.   My in-laws have the most amazing magnolia tree on their property. I hauled 2 hefty bags of branches home and used every bit of it.

Don't you love how romantic everything looks with beautiful lighting?
I found this alabaster lamp at a resale store for next to nothing then topped it with one of Carolyn Westbrook's wonderful linen shades.

This chair was handed down from my Father's family.  Until recently it had huge finials & red velvet upholstery.
But that's another blog post too!

Part of our remodeling was tearing down 2 tons worth of brick from around our fireplace. We're hunting for old wood & architectural salvage to surround it, but already it's such a huge improvement.  I loved having a nice clean space to create this mantel on.

I made my wreath using a deer rack (is that what you call them?) that belonged to my Father & a fake wreath from Hobby Lobby. Then I went crazy stuffing evergreen, magnolia, pheasant feathers & anything else I could find in it.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

It's hanging on an old wood skateboard ramp that Kevin built for the kids.
I had originally wanted to find an old door or something but I love the way this looks & the sentiment attached.

Okay, who took my other 'H'?

These apothecary jars are on top of my refrigerator.  I wanted to fill them with beautiful Christmas candy but decided to buy the kids presents instead.  So I filled them with teacups & sugar bowls & used my Mom's silver platter to hide the ugly cabinets.

You think these precious angels are writing letters to Santa??
Or,
'I will not throw footballs in the house, I will not throw footballs in the house, I will not throw footballs in the house......'

Thanks for taking the tour with me.
I really missed it here in blog land. I promise I'll be back soon!

Dear Lisa
You have decorated your home so beautifully using the nature theme - it's me to a tee!
Your tablescape is gorgeous!
Love all the nature effects like nests and flora around the house and on the mantle with your Christmas wreath holding evergreen, Magnolia (I have used Magnolia petals and seed pods in my Christmas vignette!)
and those cool pheasant feathers.
I bet the kids must be getting excited now!
Lovely to see you back blogging again
and look forward to your posts again.
Sending you my Christmas Blessings,
Warm hugs,
