Where Bloggers Create III

I love my art room.
Sometimes I call it my studio to sound professional, it's actually our dining room.
I needed an art room much more than a formal dining room.

A place I can go to forget the stress of the day & get lost in a whole other world.
Sometimes I dream of having a 'real studio'.
A big room, separate from the rest of the house.
But for now my room is perfect.
It's in the center of the house, close to the kitchen & living room.
I can play with my toys while the kids play with theirs.

With 3 little ones, I get my art fix when I can.
But my favorite, most creative time of day is early morning before anyone is awake.
My head is clear & the house is silent.
I can, & do whittle away hours looking thru my drawers,
boxes ,
& suitcases
searching for the perfect element to complete a project.
There are some pieces that are just to precious to me,
I don't think I could ever use them.
I just like to take them out & stare.
Shelves filled with gifts from sweet friends,
things I've made,

and many,
 many,

collections.

Thank you Karen for once again organizing this awesome party. Every year I look forward to poking around your studios.
So I'm off to snoop!
  Thanks for stopping by.

  29. You know...it's not the size of the room that makes beautiful art, but the size of the imagination. Yours is king-sized.

Can I move in? I promise not to spend too much time in your magical room, maybe just a week or two! LOL!
I love it! It's warm, inviting and full of fairtale stuff and dreams.

I had to dismantle my work creative space because the house is for sale, so I couldn't participate this time.

I will probably spend a lot of time looking at everyone's special places.

  44. Love looking at all your goodies... I missed out on the tour this year. My studio is a shambles and I am in the middle of redoing the whole thing. I have a tent in the back yard and it is going all under it so I can repaint and reorganize. So this is a good time to look at all the organized spaces and get good ideas.
I love your artwork, someday maybe we can play together... I would really love that

Lisa, I love your studio and all of the beautiful things that you create. Just gorgeous and you should be so proud of yourself to have made it in Somerset magazine, too.

Hey, I have a request: how do you transfer images onto things? I am trying to make some altered art and would love to transfer a picture or words onto fabric or paper. Would love some professional pointers.

    Have a sweeeeeeeet day!

  62. This room is so perfect and cute. Mom always used to say we should make use of our hone as we need it not worry about pleasing people and she was right. I used to have a closet as my sewing room years back, have also had my sewing machine on the dining room table. What ever makes us happy that's what is important. Darling area for you.
    Blessings...Lu

  63. And this is where ALL the beautiful stuff comes forth! I love your art room. I remember when all the kids were home and we couldn't give up a room for my sewing so I used the closet in the nursery to have my sewing machine set up, but it always ended up on the kitchen table (which Dale didn't like) Now it seems backwards that I have a whole room to myself now.
But isn't it great that once we are done playing with our toys we can leave them out and yet we make our little ones put theirs away?
    sending hugs your way...
