Halloween's past

Well it's the week before Halloween and the spirits in our House can hardly stand it. We have 'The Great Pumpkin' Tevo'd, candy corn is now referred to as 'dessert' and the boys sleep with their wigs (that's another post). We've celebrated 3 wonderful Halloween's as a family, the first was sadly spent apart in the NICU. I wanted to share some of my favorite memories.
An exhausted trio of tricksters! Last year the boys were bees, and Lily was a kitty, this is the aftermath of a great night.
These were taken at our neighborhood pumpkin patch when the kids were 2. Philip in the maze, this year he was almost to the top!

Lily found hers.

Philip is not too sure about what he just put his hand in.
Sticking your tounge
out provides the boost of power you need for a heavy haul.

Back when the kids were babies we had to color code them because no one could tell them apart. Orange for Owen just stuck.
Our first real Halloween I dressed the babies up as bluebirds. Anyone who knows me well knows I am obsessed with birds of all types. I found the pattern in an old Martha Stewart Baby mag. My Mother and I spent weeks making these cute costumes. They were not easy, and multiply that by 3, it was all worth it though. Kevin transformed our triplet stroller into a tree and nest. We had such fun wheeling them through the neighborhood, they were a hit!

Fluffing the nest.

Lily-bird.

Owen-bird.
Philip-bird.

Passing out candy was their favorite part.

Thank you for going down memory lane with me. I cannot believe how fast the years go by. I have to go spray paint Owen's wig now.

Oh such sweet memories. Your bluebird costumes remind me of deciding to sew (now, I don't really know much about sewing, mind you) a candy corn costume for my Baby Bee. It was so much fun making that for her and so much work. So sweet to make those for your precious bunch. Since then the Sewing Bee has taken over.
