Mannie Makeover

One of my vows for the new year was to use & enjoy all of the treasures I've spent years acquiring.

One of my biggest obsessions is old sheet music, especially the kind with whimsical titles & beautiful scripts.

I have scads of really amazing pieces, just sitting in a drawer waiting to be used.
When I found this old dressmakers mannequin it was pretty cute, but I can't leave anything alone.

I got the seal of approval when Lily announced, 'Mommy I love your maniac'.

I do too.
******************************************************
I just found out that my dear friend Dorthe from Den Lille Lade is having a giveway!  In honor of her blogging birthday, someone will be gifted with a one of a kind handmade angel.  I am lucky enough to own one of Dorthes' dolls & the pictures don't do justice to how amazing they are.  Besides being one of the nicest people I've ever known Dorthe is a gifted artist.

Go over & check her out!

OH SO LOVE HER....she is a classic beauty now.
But how did you adhere the sheet music to the material of the "maniac" ?(laughing )
Did you use a glaze over the sheet music...like a decoupage ?

CUTE IDEA ...really cute !

Hi Lisa -
I so appreciated your suggestions and I have to tell you, I had thought about adding some black. My table has black legs and my chairs are black. I really like the idea of a couple of black and white check plates. So now I'm on the hunt for some :) It helps to have another opinion, especially when, you get into a decorating funk, like I did.
Thanks again,
Toni

Lisa..I can't keep my eyes off on "maniac"...she is just way too darling. I have two 'maniacs" of my own...but each have clothing on them...so I will have to try to find a naked one maybe.
Thanks for dropping by and giving me the idea for the candlestick for a heel on my antique shoe last...I can do that I'm sure.

Just actually getting around to DOING it..is the next challange.

I love your maniac! She's beautiful and so unique. What is her name? Mine are Genevieve and Antoinette. Although Genevieve is naked except for a necklace. So, now you have inspired me to dress her more properly!!! :)

Well you've done it again, Lisa. You blow me away!! That is the coolest mannie make-over ever! I just saw one (a mannie makeover) yesterday that I really liked, but I think I will attempt one like yours.

I so agree with your plan to enjoy what you've spent time acquiring. Otherwise, we're just chasing our tails.

Hi dear Lisa,
My husbond just phoned me and said a packet has arrived at home from you to me, juuuubiiiiiiiiii, I guess it must be the old one, so now you don`t have to send the new one, I so hope it is still at your home, dear!!!!
Wow now I can`t wait to get home ,to see it, but it takes 6 more dayes here ,till I`m back, so just have to be patient.

So happy it arrived Lisa.
Big hug-Dorthe
