Nature

A perfect nest. Straw, bits of string, plastic & a feather or two. A vintage aquarium to show it off.  The ultimate assemblage.

I've been spending a lot of time outdoors with the kids lately, enjoying these 50 degree days. Going to the park, looking for 'nature' as my son calls it.  I was inspired to build this little shrine.

The kids planted their first garden last summer, this sunflower is evidence of their green thumbs.

A prayer of thanks tucked among the seeds.

NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
-Robert Frost

Lisa amor, beautiful, simply beautiful! You, Dawn, Sandy of Quil Cottage and so many others made some of the most beautiful pieces of art that are not only lovely to look at but are inspiring and make me want to create! I can't wait for the Artist Class to learn some techniques! I so wish some of you lived near by to get together and learn from :) Besos, Rose

ps..what is that at the bottom of the shrine? It kind of looks like gauze but has bits still attached and looks like threads behind it..sorry intresting things like this catch my eyes :)
