White Wednesday/Bedroom secrets!

I got your attention, huh?
You know how all of the decorating shows on HGTV say to start your makeover with the grunt work?  The painting, lighting all the hard boring stuff? Well, my decorating style is a little backwards. I always start with the small stuff, the details because that's what inspires me. So for today's White Wednesday I'm showing you some of the details for my new bedroom.

I found these great alabaster lamps at my fav resale shop, it was 1/2 off day so they were only $30!
This is my bed, I've had it forever.  I bought it because of the perfect chippy paint, check out that crackle.
But this is the bed I covet.  Yep, Debbie at Curious Sofa has my dream bed. I wonder if she'd sell it?  I'm thinking about making one. I have a husband who can build anything, I could cover & tuft it. Hum...
This tole lamp is my latest acquisition, it came from my sweet friend Carolyn, I just love the cream, gold, tan paint on it.
I'm taking this chair out of my living room, look closely at the pillow.  Look framiliar?
Look again, it's Sissie's pillow. I saw it on her blog & snatched it up before anyone else. It is so beautiful, thank you Pillow Diva!

Then I bought this chair for $20. I loved the french provincial style, but not the finish.
A new finish & some fabric fancied it up, not sure about the fabric yet.

I don't think I've shown you this manni before, isn't she cool?

Her name is Model 1935, I know because it's tattooed on her.
It's always a good idea to have some cherubs watching out for you, so my collection will stay.
Hopefully soon I'll show you the finished room, if I can ever get it painted! But in the mean time, check out Faded Charm & see what other white lovelies are out here today.  Thanks Kathleen for
keeping the party going!
*******************************
One more white thing.  A new tag I'm working on.

I used a transparency, made it into a pocket to hold beads & tatting.
Have a happy 'hump day'!

$30 for those lamps- you didn't buy them, you stole them. They are GREAT! I love all your shades of chippy white- and the chair makeover is fantastic. I would love a Miss Model 1935- I want a dress form with a little "metal" on her. At one time, Deb of CS did have your dream bed for sale- I think I remember seeing it at a Miss Frenchies sale.

Oh yeah, you've got my attention.
And oh dear, I know it's not polite to read a post with my jaw dropped, but here I am - jaw dropped. GORGEOUS!!! I follow your same approach - details first (after all, that's what matters most); paint etc last.

I think Debby put the bed in her shop for sale a while back. I wonder how difficult it would be to make one??? Love the lamps, chairs, Sissie's pillow, and your manni w/ a tattoo - hip&chic. Hmmmmm, new style name. Hip&Chic.

You inspire! You delight! And boy am I ever glad I poppped over to visit today! Wishing you a lovely Wed. Lisa!

Hi sweet girl, I'm sorry I haven't visited you for awhile. I've been busy, we're moving our antic shop to Gardner Village.

I'm always so inspired when I visit you. I'm loving your bedroom. The lamps are perfect - I can't wait to see the shades. I adore that chair, and especially the material. I have an old french provincial dinning room set and hutch I would like your process done to. It's too big for me to tackle though. Make a tortorial for the process!

I am having a 50th follower drawing this sunday. Your in it!

Come visit.

Hi Dear Sweet Lisa! I just received you great big box of giveaway beauties. I just couldn't be more excited. I had to try and stay calm and get the camera and get some pictures before I totally went crazy. Everything is just wonderful. I just wish my camera could do your items justice. I'll be posting about it tomorrow. You don't know how long I have been looking for some sweet baby shoes to make a pin cushion with. I could go on and on about every single item but I won't do that to you. I just hope you know how much I loved everything and what a wonderful presentation it all was.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart dear friend!!! xxxxoooo's....Tracy :)
