For Molly

Today is my Sister's birthday, in celebration of her big day I wanted to share some thoughts & images on Sisterhood.
. . . TO MY SISTER . . .

I'm blessed to call you sister,
I also call you friend;
You've loved me unconditionally,
And stood through thick and thin.

You've shared my joys and sorrows,
My laughter and my tears.
You've been my inspiration,
As we grew up through the years.

When we were little children
We laughed and played together;
Then growing up you stood by me,
Through good and stormy weather.

There's something God has given us,
That's more than family;
He's placed a love for you, my Sister,
Deep down in the heart of me.

~Allison Chambers Coxsey
If you are lucky enough to have a sister, then you know the bond we share.
The two of us played Barbies, shared clothes, wished we were the Brady Bunch, survived our parents divorce, wore acid washed jeans to Bon Jovi concerts, were together through graduations, weddings & the birth of our children.  We grieved when we lost our beloved
Mother & Father.
Through it all...it was us,
supporting, laughing, crying & loving each other.
So today, I dedicate my post to my best friend & Sister.
Happy Birthday Molly!
PS She's the funny one!

Love your Sister Post ~ Happy Birthday Molly..... I Love the Name Molly, it was My Favorite Aunt's Name & it would have been My Son's Name, If He Had Been a Girl "Molly Kate" but He came out with Boy Parts~ {Please, Don't tell him I shared this, He would be mortified, He hates to hear he almost was a Molly}

What a beautiful posting. I could have written all of this on a posting minus the divorce, but since my parents' passing we have been estranged. Consider yourself blessed. I envy you.

Having a younger sister myself (who's birthday is just around the corner) this touched me deeply. We've shared life (and a bathtub) the same as you and Molly. Loved the poem. If she's the funny one, does that make you the pretty one? I was the funny one!

Oh happy birthday Molly. I wanted a sister so bad, I needed a sister so bad. I got 3 brothers and a hard career working mother. Maybe that's why I enjoy blogging so much.

I cried as I read your tribute. I now have a granddaughter that has a little sister. She is being just like Molly. May I keep your poem?????

You the best Lisa!

Love the bird post. Why didn't I pay attention to the theme... I love birds. Totally would have signed up for that. But after the Valentine swap... didn't want to rush around signing up for things. :)

good to see you on Friday...even though I was busy rushing around.
