Tattered Trash & a Feathered Tin Rabbit!

Whadda weekend!
It was all amazing from the minute I picked my sweet friend Dawn up at the airport until I dropped her back off 72 hours later.
We started out Thursday night hooking up at the book store with blog buddies Lori & Pat.
You think we found anything to talk about???
The next morning after getting the kids off to school we headed to Athens to see Gloria's awesome shop Winnie & Tulula's.
Anyone recognize that crazy girl in the window?
My favorite trash talking girl Debbie!
I think the writing on the window has this girl pegged!
Eclectic, quirky & romantic!
This girl makes me laugh so much.
When I wasn't laughing at her stories I was buying up all her amazing stash!

Gloria has turned this old historic building into one of the best stores I've ever been in!
Linens, clothes delicious food, she's got it all.
My friend Daphnes beautiful bags!
Gloria calls this 'Paris Apartment'.
Some of Dawn's treasure's.
I bought up so much good stuff that day.
I'll show you next post.
After a big lunch & a lot of shopping it was off to see
The drive to Melrose was truly picturesque.
Rolling Texas hills, small farms dotting the landscape & the amazing fall colors surrounding us.
Even the weather that weekend was perfect.
When we turned into the gravel drive there was a lot of
Ohhs & Ahhs!
The property consists of their sweet cottage, the shop & Ann's 'famous' greenhouse.
He has put an enormous amount of work into their home & shop, swapping new doors with antique.

By the time we arrived it was dark, & everything was lit up with thousands of white lights.

It was so breathtaking it actually brought tears to our eyes.
I'm not a bit embarrassed to tell you this, I know you understand.

Ann's greatest gift is her fearless way of putting things together.
Whether it's the way she decorates her home,

or creating art
I just love everything she does!
I'll stop writing for a minute & let the pictures speak for themselves.

Are you tired of looking yet??
No?

 Here's some more!!!!!!!

It is absolutely the most beautiful home I've ever been in!
Ann is such a precious friend & such a sweet soul.
Needless to say a few lot of the treasures I showed you are now in my possession!
I'll be watching for the postman so I can intercept the Visa bill.
Stayed tuned for my next post titled....
'Lisa gets a job at McDonalds'
were I'll show off all my goodies!

Her home is really just unbelievable. It is one of those place where I would look at my watch and suddenly realize I had been there for hours studying things. So happy for you girls that you were able to have this trip! I can only imagine what came home in the trunk!lol - Love the McDonald's comment. I always giggle about my favorite local place being called "Hidden Treasures." That is exactly what all my purchases are from there! Hidden Treasures in my trunk! Take care

I don't know where to start so I'll just let it flow...like the tears from seeing Anne's beautiful visions. I am in love with everything...BUT...that ginormous finial is whupping this chubby lady. Oh mylanta and that ceiling...my neck is cramping just thinking about all the time that went into doing it.
Meeting Dawn and getting to play with y'all was a treat for me. I loved every minute I got to spend with y'all, but I am curious about one thing. No pictures of the chef...what gives?
Thank y'all for letting me and Winnie & Tulula's be a pit stop on your road trip. I sang all the way home!

I've never wanted to go to Texas - until now!

First I'll have to see if my MacDonald's is hiring...

This is the sort of post that requires re-reading, re-gazing, re-gasping. Oh. my. What beauty!

What amazes me is the amount of detail - everywhere. There is nothing left unattended, you know? I would have gone nuts there.

Thank you so much for sharing this incredible experience with us.

Why does it seem that TX has all the neat shops and shows????

I am so jealous... and I don't say that ever!!! OK... that is what heaven looks like (to me)
I need to redo every inch of my house :) My first thought was, a man does not live there, but I see one does... he must be amazing. My second thought was, my studio looks like that why not my house, but then I couldn't do it with all the people here, so I will just have to accept it and live through your lovely pictures.
I so want to come down there, ahhh someday.
Blessings my friend and thanks for all the inspiration this morning

I am speechless and I have tears in my eyes! I have longed to visit Ann for a couple of years now, and it never works out when I'm in Texas!

That woman is the MOST talented woman I know of! It amazes me! And to think she doesn't get out and go to shows, nor does she blog search much (she hasn't even had a blog very long). These IDEAS are all hers!! That speaks volumnes in this business!!

I love her style! OMGoodness, my heart is beating so fast! I have got to visit her soon! Country Living really needs to do an article on this fabulous lady!!!

Thank you so much for sharing all the lovely photos! Although I am a little jealous I wasn't there! I know Dawn from Atlanta and I bet you guys had a great time!!

This post is all I'm gonna think about all day long!!
