Time for mail!

Oh, I love it when the clock strikes 3, that's when Santa comes by my house. When I say Santa, I'm talking about Mike, my mailman! When I see his little white & blue truck crawling down my street I get all excited. Like a little kid. I've got him figured out, if he pauses to a complete stop more than likely there is something good waiting in my mailbox. And if he puts the truck in park & gets out....well that means the kids get to see my Happy Dance!
But like you , I know it's as much fun to give as to receive.

So today I want to show you some of the wondrous stuff I gave & some I received!
I had such fun doing my first swap with Karla, that I signed up for another one right away.
This time with Heather at Speckled Egg. The last petite inspiration box swap she did blew me away! When I saw this one was a bird theme, I was in. In case you haven't seen it before, you alter a 5x3 matchbox.

So these are my boxes, I'm not going to say who is getting what. There has to be some surprise, right?!  I did each one different, trying to make it special for the recipient.  In one, I used a sheet of Jenni Bowlin scrapbook paper purchased from my much loved Anthologies. Added a letter that will be meaningful to my swap partner, & a little nest.
Then for another I made a transfer from an old book page, & turned it into a pin cushion.  And of course, you can't do a spring bird swap without some robin's egg blue - right?!

Then I went to work filling them up.

Oh, what fun I had rummaging through my studio picking out treasures.

Finding just the right goodies for each girl.

Some made by me.  Some not, like these sweet canvas sketches by Michelle Palmer.  You know how I love them, I've blogged about them about 3 times already! She made them just for my swap, so Nice!  I had a blast doing this cool swap, can't wait for the next one! These are one the way to my partners,  I hope they love them.
Then I arrived home from vacation, to find a box covered in international stamps sitting on my porch. I opend it immediatly, knowing what lay inside. Oodles of dried seeweed & driftwood from Denmark.  And of course some art from Dorthe herself.

I love it all Dorthe! I've had a project in the back of my head for quite sometime now that involves sea bladder as Dorthe calls it.   Can you only imagine what the USPS thought when this package went through the scanner?! Crazy!
Have a happy hump day friends!
