What I did, who I met & a bird! Part 1

Round Top was really amazing, it was my first time & I was not disappointed in the least. If you have never been, try to make the spring show.

Driving from Carmine to Warrenton the first day we passed field after field of dealers and wonderful treasures on display. My anticipation grew and grew until we finally reached our destination, Zapp Hall. We gladly paid our $5 parking fee, pulled the market cart out of the car and took off running so fast I left my car door wide open! Charlene was hitting the security lock on the key chain over and over waiting for a beep or honk. Finally we looked back into the lot and there's my car, door wide open!

The visual merchandising at Magnolia Pearl was over the top cool! Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures inside but in the middle of the tent they'd take a tree and wrapped it in lace and burlap, too cool. The tattered ballet slippers handing from the sign was one of my favorites.

This display of cast iron doll molds was surreal!

Lots of Autum inspiration.

Ooodles and oodles of neat stuff.

After hours of walking through tents and fields in 100+ degrees, we headed to Cole's Antiques which was air conditioned. I spent some cash there, I'll show you later.

French Country was well represented!

Yummy neutrals.

On Tuesday Marburger opened and I found one of my very favorites, Judy Hill. I have to tell you I was blown away by her generosity. They spent days setting up in sweltering heat & thunderstorms yet she was all smiles and happy to visit with me. I will be at her next home sale in December. I found some really awesome things at her booth.

These pillows were soooo Amazing! What a special gift they would be.

This display blew me away.

I'm glad we were there opening day because I can tell you they had sold half of this stuff by late afternoon.

And the cute trailers were everywhere.

Clutter was really great too. These bags were so cute, all hand embroidered.

Another couple of really nice dealers, they were happy to share stories of buying trips to Europe. I found 2 wonderful old picture albums I'll share tomorrow, both from London.

Well, hope that wasn't too long. Tomorrow I'll show you some of my favorite finds!

Oh it looks like you had such a good time!!!!! There just aren't any great shows like that here. I had a taste of them when I went up north ans was able to visit the Barn House and a couple other small shows. Also the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. It wet my whistle and now I can't wait to be able to go again!!! I'm looking forward to seeing your goodies!

It was like I was re-living our trip all over again! OH MAN DID WE HAVE FUN! I'm starting to save for Spring already! So glad to see Madusa was represented! Hee Hee. Sorry girls private joke. Hope the kiddos are better. Laverne left for Round Top today & I sure hope that the fields are not pure slop/mud when they get there. It POURED at our house last night & the radar showed the storm heading that direction. :0

Loved your "open door" story!! I could just see you... I would have done the same thing. I was supposed to go with a group of friends, but the majority of us had scheduling problems. Hopefully we'll make it to the Spring show.
Thanks for whetting my appetite!
