Back home ♥

It's been days since my last post! The fam took an impromptu vacation when we lost electricity.  We are lucky enough to have relatives living close by & who are willing to take in my motley crew.  I know some of you stuck it out at home, & I hope you all have lights by now.  The only casualty...my camera! I cannot find it anywhere, so I talked K into taking a few shots for you with his fancy Cannon.
When the snow started melting I made a dash for the car. I was overcome with cabin fever! I headed straight to my favorite antique mall & look at what I found!
This old printers case is loaded with the most amazing pieces. I found it wrapped in plastic & sitting on the bottom of a locked cabinet. I walked past it a few times, not wanting to track down someone with a key.  Then the vendor saw me snooping &  offered me a deal I 'couldn't refuse'.   This is how it looked unwrapped.  Lily & I spent an hour carefully inspecting each piece. There are parts from opera glasses, ivory from piano keys, & best of all about 7 sets of wings!

I finished up a little bottle, I've been hanging onto the little porcelain doll forever.

Some hanging tags, they are actually created on 4x6 chipboard.
I love the ghostly image transfer on this one, some of my favorite tattered trim & millinery.

Spring in a bottle!

Diane has been sharing some great tips for tags, including one of her favorite sources for digital art. Check out Batya at Art Cult to see her beautiful images.  I used one on this tag & the cards below. Still trying to find which paper works best for printing them, but here are some first tries.

Sorry I don't have more pictures today.
Have you seen this yet?
I can't wait to see it, but I don't want to pay the 9+ dollars they want for shipping.  Yes I'm cheap, but my magazine addiction is getting more & more expensive.
Hope your week is filled with love & creativity!

$9 for the magazine or for the book? If it's for the book - do you have any used book stores near you? Have you tried Amazon.com? Do you have Craigslist? I have located books I've longed for at great buys. I have a teeny budget with the economy and I totally understand girl - love the tags!!!! Come visit me some time, Jennifer
