My botanical gardens

I'm still playing with resin, this time preserving wildflowers from last summer.

I've always used Dad's old dictionary to press them.

I found this thrifting today, I'm big time now!

Ferns from my Valentine's bouquet....

will become a series of botanicals for my bedroom.

I bought these felt stems from my favorite scrapbooking store Anthologies.  They are by Prima.  I want to use them with my pressed ferns for kind of a 3-D botanical.

Bought these the same day...aren't they awesome!!  Giant stamps by Donna Downey.  I love this store, it's only blocks from my house so I stop in at least a couple of times a week.

An old poem printed on transparency makes a cool pocket for seeds.  It's a page for a nature journal I'm working on.

 

First I transferred an old book page onto canvas.

I'm obsessed with this little piece of seaweed. It looked like a little bulb & it dried so beautifully.  My friend Dorthe says in Denmark it's called 'bladder wrack'.  I plan to encase it in resin, but I'm afraid if it doesn't work I'll cry. It's the only piece I have, we found it on a beach in Monterey last summer.  If any of you beach- combers see any, I will pay you for some!
