The Big Prep

Left home a women, returned a Cowgirl!
I would like to give thanks to the firm of Lorys/LeJeune
(who earned obscene amounts of money & vintage goods)
for their photo wizardry & shameless publicity.
I couldn't possibily out-shine their Paper Cowgirl class posts, so I'll show you the preparation that went into it.
It meant so much to me that all these talented women signed up for my class.
I wanted to make something special for each one.
So I created kits from burlap & drop cloth, each one unique.

'Sewing &, folding & glueing, oh my!'
My house looked like a barn for a month with strands of burlap floating around everywhere!
(The dog is still wheezing)

I used lots of lace & crochet from my stash.

Lot's of bling from my friend Beth.

23 bags in all.
Then I stuffed them with all kinds of goodies
Some to use in class, some to take home.
But I couldn't stop there.
When your in class you gotta take notes, right?

I covered these little journals with craft paper & images that my dear friend Dawn created for me.
Cool huh?
She is & was such a support to me! I couldn't have made it to the event without her help!

Then I made this inspiration board to display my class project.
I got the idea while reading sweet Shelly's studio post.

I liked it so much I made another.
Then I put together some art kits to sell at vendor night.
They loved them!
I have some for the shop, I just need to get them listed.
The prep work didn't stop once I arrived at the event, oh nooo!
In true T&T style, I arrived with buckets of herbs to make into nose-gays & quite a few other last minute tasks.
So I wanna give a shout out to my sweatshop workers!

And a huge thank~you to the awesome ladies who came to learn & play with me!
You were all star students,

With the exception of a couple of class clowns!
LOL
I hope to expose show you more pictures of the weekend.
I had a little camera mishap,
(imagine that)
but I'm working on it.
Until then, have a safe & wonderful holiday weekend!

~Lisa

Why does everything that looks like so much fun have to happen so far away? Each of you are so lucky to have the opportunity to get together and create such beautiful things!

Since you have Nebraska roots, how about coming up here and showing us your creativity. We have ranches and cowgirls too! (lol)
