Tricks & Kits

Tonight's Halloween, so let's get the tricks out of the way.

Trick 1
Create a 'bone-man' costume from a thrifted unitard.
Kevin painted the bones on Philip's costume freehand.
Did I ever tell you he was an art major?

Then he sewed gloves for Owen out of craft foam.

It was a trick getting the tension straight on my sewing machine after that!

Yeah, he was feeling pretty good about himself.

Owen decided he was making his own costume this year.
With a little help from Grand-dad & my glue gun he turned himself into
'Greymatter'
(unless you are a 6 year old boy you will have no idea who that is)

 Another trick......

Getting these kids to clean out a pumpkin.

I had to brake out the sandwich bags.

Sad.

Now for the kits.

I taught an Altered Holiday Slipper class last week, so there were kits to be made.

It was a smaller class so I was able to spend more time on each one.
A unique bag to suit the personality of each girl.

A sassy bag for a sassy girl.

My friend Nicki, see the resemblance?

We had a great day.

A little shopping,

a little creating,

& a lot of laughing.

That makes for one fine day!

While I was working on my kits, the kids had their own to make.

17 each.

That's a whole lotta goodie bags!

They also made each one special.

I think they worked way harder then I did!
I can't believe I posted a picture of my filthy floor.
Boy I wish I knew photoshop!

Earlier today I posted a new online tutorial.

They are for sale in my etsy shop.

I also listed some kits, but I think there is only 1 left.

I'm working on more tomorrow.

Since it's Halloween I have a treat for you.....I promise, this is the last post about ballet slippers!

Happy Halloween!

Hey Lisa, Your kids look so creepily cute in their costumes. Hopefully they had lots of fun playing trick or treat and got many treats. Kevin did a great job painting the bones.
The kits are pure beauty and your students look very happy with their lovely creations. It must have been a fun class.
I've not packed away your Christmas tin. It's already hanging in the living room as the first Christmas decoration this year and I LOVE it :-).
Have a great week, sweetie!
Hugs to you,
Julia

Lisa, I`m smiling BIG- they looks wonderful all 3,- what fantastic work, you have all been involved into, I am loving what Philip did--and the beautiful bat-she looks so grown up ,- and Owen did a great job, too.
So they did with all the goodie bags,also- I can see they have learned alot from their clever mother.
And talking about clevernes- Lisa dear, your bags are so very lovely, the "snow fabric" you used looks so fabolous on top of the images- and you are a fantastic teacher to make one for every "pupel". I can see they did great, I`m hoping to find a pair of slippers, soon :)
Thanks for the smiles- and love and hugs,
Dorthe

Lisa you know how much I love seeing pictures of darling kids (even in an altered state:-) Your husband rocks!!! Two artistic parents makes for super talented kids!!!!
I remember one year Dale made himself a costume and it was so scary that it scared our kids to death and the baby at the time wouldn't quit screaming even after he took it off and washed his face. It was so funny (I know, I should have thought it was sad, but we are weird that way)
What dirty floor????

Oh Lisa those Halloween costumes on the kids look so spookey to me. We don't get into celebrating Halloween here in Australia!
The kids treat packets look fun and I am sure the talent comes from mum and dad.
Looks like you put so much love and energy into that class. And what beautiful little slippers resulted.
What a talent you are!
Love and hugs,
Suzy
