McKinney - Part 2

We had such an amazing time in McKinney last week that it's taken me 2 posts to show it all to you!
Reading your comments from the first post reminded me how lucky I am to live in Texas.  We have so many wonderful places to shop. Besides McKinney, some of my fave towns for junking are Waco, Austin, Burleson, Benbrook, Fort Worth, Grapevine, Canton, Waxahachi,  Round Top, San Antonio, the entire Hill Country Area!
That's if I go out of town!
Right around the corner I'm blessed with Lonestar Antique Mall,
(Yes overseas friends, we have huge malls filled with nothing but old stuff!!)
& so many more I'm either forgetting or haven't experienced yet.
For months I've been obsessed with Prims, one of Stampingtons new publications.
I even bought some paper clay to make doll heads.  Well when I spotted this darling shop called
Plum Creek Primitives I had to check it out.

The owner Bonnie has the place decked out for fall.
She has an awesome selection of dolls, furniture & accessories, but the cutest thing in her store by far was......
her greeter, Maggie!
So after picking up a couple of gifts for my Sister, I headed over to Smitten.

This shop really takes your breath away!
Karen has filled her store with a perfect combination of luxurious linens,
supplies.....

collectibles.....

and beautiful handmade treasures!
This trip was a last minute meeting with Cindy & Angela to discuss Wicked Tea business.
 (shopping makes me think clearer)
We were on a very tight time schedule. There were so many other shops I wanted to visit, maybe next time.
So I showed you the where & the who,
do you wanna see the what????
You know me, I can't just window shop....
I was in a junk induced frenzy so I have no recollection which store I purchased each item from.
I do know that all 4 stores got a bit of my mad money!

Boxes anyone??
I cannot pass up a great old box, drawer,

or suitcase!
This one is tiny, a child's travel case.

It's now holds my collection of child themed  cabinet cards.
Like these!
That I had to bring home.
I had to, they were ridiculously cheap priced really well!

A glass negative to add to my collection.

Beautiful vintage grosgrain & velvet ribbons.
In my favorite non-colors!

This was my find of the day!
Look at this book, someone loved it so hard they stitched up the cover when it was torn!
Now that's altered art.

Okay, maybe these were my favorite purchase.

Just so many cool things calling my name.

'Lisa, take us home'...

Speaking of my obsession with 'Prims'......
one of my favorite artists featured from the magazine is Susan Pilotto of Mouse Droppings.

Did you know she is hosting her 1st ever give-away?
Check it out!

McKinney - Part 1

I played hooky yesterday from my Motherly duties & made a 'freedom run' to McKinney.
Waiting for me there.....3 friends & tons of goodies!
I took so many pictures that I'm breaking this post into 2 parts.
Part 1
Antique Co Mall & Patina Green

As soon as I walked in the door the hairs on the bad of my head stood up!

Over 25,000 square feet & 150 dealers!
Think you could find some pretties?

I'll show you Theresa's booth first.
It was picked pretty clean from weekend shoppers, but her amazing style & a few choice pieces were left.  Word has it, she's bringing in a new haul soon.

Can you ever get enough ironstone?
Not me.
Love the really stained crackled pieces.

Oh & I LOVE this old botanical.
As soon as we entered the mall Nancy from Ella Elaine, became our personal shopping guide.

A bit french, a little bit naturalist, a lot cool!
Everywhere you looked.....supplies!!

Clever ideas,
And inspiration!

The gang in Nancy's booth.
Angela, Cindy, Nancy, & our designated driver
Valerie (Ang's daughter).

So much to see, so little time!
Carolyn, picker extraordinaire, is the creator of this awesome booth.
She actually has a few spaces within the mall, & I found great stuff in each!
( Unfortunately no blog, she's too busy hauling treasures across the US)

Very unusual garden, sports & childhood themes.

After a couple of hours our pocketbooks were lighter & our bellies empty, so we headed over to Patina Green for a snack.

I have lusted over this store (online) for quite sometime.
I have to say, seeing it all in the flesh was pretty darn cool!

It was kind of dark inside that day, I wish my pictures would have turned out better.

It's often described as a Euro-market, cases of beautiful pasteries & treats were impossible to resist.
The food was beyond yummy! Locally grown veggies, a huge variety of cheese, both imported & local to Texas.

Luann & Kaci have such passion for what they do & it's obvious.
Their restoration of the building is unlike any I've seen.

Listening to Kaci describe the process was fascinating.  Discovering forgotten windows & ancient brick behind old walls.
Their style is perfection, every detail completely thought out.

I would love to know how many yards of burlap it took to make this drape!
I hope you enjoyed the tour.
Stayed tuned for Part 2,
I've got more shopping & a few things I couldn't leave behind!
