Soapbox Reveal!

Thank you to everyone who accepted my challenge to alter this cool soapbox!

In case you didn't get a chance to see them all.....

Here they are!

It turned out just as I'd hoped.

Each box as amazing,

& as different

as the artist who created it!
Everyone in the house was inspired to make thier own.

Lily made a wallet,

Owen made a clock,

I'm not sure what Philip made, but he had a blast doing it!
My child handler  niece Chelsea studies theater & art in college.

I really love hers!
And to anyone who didn't get a chance to finish their box.
Please, don't worry.
Life's way too short to worry about swaps, challenges & things.
Art & blogging is fun, not meant to be pressure.
Thanks for playing with me~

Published!!

I'm buried deep in projects, first of which is my awesome Paper Cowgirl gig!
Don't tell anyone, but I think I bit off more than I could
chew.
LOL
I work best under pressure though.
So yesterday, while standing in a sea of lace, covered in glue, kids screaming for something more than a Pop Tart to eat, & I'm just about to throw one Texas size hissy fit..........
the doorbell rings......

I've waited 8 months for this!  My work published at last!

I even kinda made the cover!

And yes Sissie, I wet my pants!
It's a real honest to goodness layout, (5 pages, but who's counting) accompanied by my own words.
I set some serious goals for myself this year & after a lot of hard work it's so gratifying to see my dreams coming true.
My idea... to have a small home business up & operating by the time my kids start kindergarten.
Nothing big, just enough to contribute to the family.
Opening a blog shop, teaching workshops, selling my art, & now being featured in my favorite publication!
 It's all happening & I'm overwhelmed.
Thank you all for giving me the encouragement & confidence to go forward.  You brought me here!
One of my favorite quotes is from a poem by Thoreau,
When it's time to die let us not discover that we have not lived.
Spidy 1, 2 & PPP asked me to say thanks for visiting our little studio.   I'm working my way down the WBC list, there are so many AMAZING rooms to see!
I'm off to Paper Cowgirls tomorrow, I'll be back Monday to reveal my soapbox & so much more.  For those of you participating in my art challenge, I'll have
Mr Linky up Sunday night.
Wish me luck on everything!

Outside the Box - Art Challenge

A couple of months ago I discoverd these soaps from  Pure & Natural, & One.  The cool recycled paper packaging & the awesome smell hooked me. I bought 4 of them!  Well, life got busy & they sat in my studio collecting dust, until today.
I got them down, began to play, & then I got an idea....

Are you up for an art challenge?
I've never hosted a blog party, swap or challenge before, but these little boxes inspire me!
I would love to see what you would do with them. If you want to accept my challenge, here's the skinny.
Get yourself some of this soap either at Target, or here, or here.
We'll post our creations on June 28.
Embellish & alter your box in your own personal style.
No postage, no pressure, just take a picture & show it off!
Grab my button & link to this post so everyone else can play along. I'll have Mr. Linky set up the day before our reveal.

Update:
I am going to Target to buy a bunch of the soaps. If you can't get it on your own, I'll send you a bar for $6.   Just email me your information.
