Colorado Haul

One of the great things about vacations is finding new places to spend my money shop
I found some awesome antique shops in Pueblo, Colorado.  They have a darling historic downtown area, in case you ever go there. Kevin was a sweetie & took the kids to the park so I could do some power shopping!

I have a real weakness for celluloid albums,

especially if they are priced well..........

& filled with amazing photos! The cover & spine of this album were damaged, hence the low price. Good for me, I prefer it all falling apart!

This might be a good time to tell you this is going to be a long post.

And filled with lots of eye candy!

Do I have your attention???

They are doll shoes actual size......1 & a half inches long.
The leather loafers make me Crazy,

What is it about tiny things that makes my heart skip a beat?

These shoes are a couple of inches longer.  I really need to stop buying baby shoes, but I can't.

2 more for my collection.
And wait till you see this.....

Most of this came from one persons booth!
And most of it was priced at $1 or $2 apiece.

Beautiful bigger crocheted pieces.

I really love the flesh colored ones, I think I will hoard those for awhile.

This little box was $7, the note from someones Aunt Anna still enclosed.

See that piece in the back?  The sequined trim?? That is my favorite find of the day.  I love just all these little bits.

From lace to rust.  This lot came from one dealer too.  The prices were really cheap great.

I freaked out when I found these pins, they will be perfect on a tattered collage.

I saw this beat up looking box sitting on a shelf, opened it & discovered it was filled with ephemera dating back to 1920-40.

It may have been an 'insipration' box, there's a bunch of tracings & sketches inside.
And finally, this isn't new but don't you love it?
My niece wanted to stop at Urban Outfitters, their clothes are about 20 years too small young for me but they have some cute accessories.  I couldn't resist this lace basket.
So there it is, my vacation souvenirs!
Hope your weekend was fun & cooler than mine was.
(105 degrees!!!!!!!!!)
How many more days until Fall????

You made a MAJOR SCORE GIRLFRIEND!!!! You have all the luck! Colorado does have some amazing shops. My brother (Precious) was born in Pubelo. It sure has changed from what I remember as a kid. That's the last place we lived before moving to Texas & this "charming" temperature... Did you get to go see KC? We see the cardiac surgeon today so hope we get a date set. Call me when you have the kids down so we can chat. I miss you! Charlene

Girl, you have the knack for finding fabulous things like nobody's business!!! I need to come up there to visit you just to go shopping! Something tells me you know all the best spots in your own town too! I'm so glad you had a good time on your vacation. There's nothing better than finding treasures while away from home. They always seem better than the ones we find locally. (Even though they are usually not)
Have a great week!
xo,
Karen

Oooooo, I recognize that cuff collar!

Oh, and word on the street is D Day is tomorrow for the phone, yay!

XO,
Anne

I love your post of all your goodies. It looks alot like some of the stuff I went after this summer only in Utah antique malls and shops. I just love going into these types of places, and it is so much fun going when you are somewhere other than your own hometown.

Lisa, you found some great things on your trip. I can top your 105...it was 111 in McKinney on Sunday and 110 at my house the day before. It was almost too hot to even be anywhere other than in the A/C.

So fantastic dear friend, love it all, but mostly the shoes,---so very sweet, and all the laces, boxes, and the photoes,- no,no-just one word fits here- ALL- is perfect finds, and very beautifull.

Big hugs, and have a happy evening sweet Lisa.

Oh my goodness! What beautiful treasures you found. I love your pictures...it's like I want to reach in and grab everything. I especially love the bits and pieces of hardware and the old photos. I want to shop where you shop. Happy hunting:)

Wow..I also have a weekness for OLD Baby or Child shoes..What a great find. I can only hope that I find a sale 1/2 that good some day. What a cool vacation :)

Linda @ Itsy Bits And Pieces said...

OH Lisa...you DID hit the mother lode! How fun to visit a shop and find all of that just waiting for you!!

Julia @ Vintage with Laces said...

I guess if Kevin had anticipated that you would clean out the shops, he wouldn't have let you go shopping all by your own, lol. You scored big time, Lisa! Don't you think, this is just too much lace for one girl? I'm sure you can't even close your lace suitcase anymore. I should take the next flight and help you out by taking some home ;-). The pins are cool and I also love the metal pieces, the box with the collars and of course the photos.
Your Halloween project is awesome. I can imagine that it hadn't been so easy to come up with this in the summer time. I always find it difficult to create something for a season that is some months away. The Paper Cowgirls will love your project!
Have a great Tuesday, Sweetie!
Hugs to you,
Julia
PS: I showed off your pillow to my friends yesterday and they just loved it :-).

Lisa, are you completely black and blue from pinching yourself? That box of old collars is the best thing I've seen lately. Wow the mother load for sure my friend. And the best part is you will turn it all into fabulous treasures.

Hugs,

Shelley

Just shoot me now....I want half of that...

loved how you crossed out the word 'cheap'. In one of my past lives I was a wine steward and we would say a wine was 'affordable', not 'cheap'. We would also call others 'pricey' rather than saying 'expensive'. Just a little trivia for you.

What a haul!!! I can't believe all the laces you found for such great bargains. Real crochet lace is getting to be scarce as hens teeth here, I have lace envy, but, I do not begrudge one of my favorite artist her stash! Thanks for sharing the eye candy, it was sweet indeed!

Hi Lisa! I was just in Colorado myself, not far from Pueblo! You know, I never even thought of going there to shop and now I wish I had! You found a great place! The next time I'm in Colorado Springs I think I will have to make a trip south for the day! Love all the lace (everywhere I go they seem to want an arm & leg for it...great finds!) and those safety pins...I've never seen any like that before! Anxious to see what you do with them!

Thanks for sharing all your wonderful treasures! Have a blessed day!

My sis used to make those baskets by starching doilies. I've been wanting to try starching and foofing some every Easter and never do it. Guess I should just go to Urban Outfitters and snag one to foof!
