S.O.S.

If anyone is out there, help me! Picasa is holding me & my pictures hostage.  LOL
I've been trying to post since Friday.  YUP Friday.
I have so much to show you but Mr. Blogger & Ms Picasa will not allow it. After paying the fee I was told I could get back to uploading photos within 24 hours.  Now 4 days later I'm still waiting.
Don't you think they should give you a warning before you run out of storage space?
Hope to post soon, in the meantime I'm going to look at your pictures!

Oh my, I have NO idea!
I don't use Picasa, and now I'm starting to understand why.

Isn't there another way around it?

Lisa, you've ran out of photo space, but you probably know that. If you will go in and delete duplicate photos, you'll see you have them, then that will allow you to add photos. The only thing with deleting is you have to make sure you are deleting the right one or it will remove your photo from your post and this will be a trial and error thing. You can also delete pics that you maybe you wanted to load but maybe didn't. Just a thought. Hope it works.

I've heard of this happening before to other bloggers. One of them gave up and started a new blog. I don't understand what the problem is with Picasa. If it's supposed to take 24 hours, then it should be 24 hours.

Crossing my fingers for you.

Also, Lisa - you can click on your picasa web album and then click on help. Type in your problem and usually you will find others who have had the same problem - or you can fill out a form to let Google know your problem.

Hi Lisa,

I hope you have them back soon. I post so many pictures that I ran out of space too, but they did give me a warning beforehand. I now pay $20.00 a year, and so far so good.

The one reason I started my blog was to have my own "Mozy" online back-up so that if my computer crashed I would still have copies of my photos.

Good luck, I know you must be freaked out about this.

~ Kathy

Maybe you look Picasa headquarters up online and call them, getting somebody that is not in the problem department and get some help that way.

Hi Lisa, It is Marilou again and I just went into my Picasa and decided to delete duplicates and I deleted about 10 pic's then went to my blog and they had disappeared so I had to upload them all over again and so don't do that for sure it was a mess! I'm glad I didn't touch anymore. Get another photo server or pay the $ and wait the 24 hrs as that was not a good thing to do,it even deleted ones that I didn't delete so it is very touchy right now. I don't know what their problem is??

I was thinking about what I just wrote (an noticed my typo!). I load all of my photos into my computer, and then edit them in Picassa. But I had used up my free Blogger memory and that is when I had to pay the $20. I hope that you still have your original photos available on your computer.

Oh no! Isn't Picassa free? I hope they don't run out of storage, they have about a million or so of my pictures. Maybe its Blogger causing the issues?

I use Picasa. Picasa stores the pictures on your hard drive and encourages you to load the files to their web albums so they can store/back up for you. If you hit capacity they send a warning that you have to upgrade to a paid account. I hope your payment is processed asap and you regain access. I love your blog too!

A hostage situation? I think we need to call in a swat team, because I need to see your pictures.

I have heard that blogger can fill up and you might need to delete some old pictures or compress them to a smaller size before you load them.

Hi Lisa,
I did not read all the comments, probably someone already told you, but in case that not I just wanted to let you know that you can upload pictures directly from your pc hard drive file where you have stored them up to blogger.
I used to upload all my pictures to the internet too before uploading them to blogger for a long time, until some years ago I found out that it is much easier and quicker to directly upload them from the file on my hard drive. In case you need picasa to edit them in any way it is another story of course, because I do that with Photoshop on my laptop.

Oh and I have to say I saw all your gorgeous photos from Round Top and I'm sooooo jealous!

xoxo~ Carola

P.S.: I have a give back running over on my blog, just in case you'd like to play along!

Hi Lisa
I hope you get it solved. I was about to write about the blogger upload, but I see Carola already did :D
I too upload directly from my hard drive and do the photoediting in my photoeditor program on my computer.

I am not sure what is going on either. I can't load pictures from my computer anymore. I had to pay Picasa. I am assuming that is because the photos uploaded to your blog from your computer are actually stored by Picasa so loading from your computer doesn't work once you hit the limit. I haven't tried to post since I paid because I was so frustrated. I will give it a shot today and see what happens. It looks like your problem was resolved.
