McKinney - Part 2

We had such an amazing time in McKinney last week that it's taken me 2 posts to show it all to you!
Reading your comments from the first post reminded me how lucky I am to live in Texas.  We have so many wonderful places to shop. Besides McKinney, some of my fave towns for junking are Waco, Austin, Burleson, Benbrook, Fort Worth, Grapevine, Canton, Waxahachi,  Round Top, San Antonio, the entire Hill Country Area!
That's if I go out of town!
Right around the corner I'm blessed with Lonestar Antique Mall,
(Yes overseas friends, we have huge malls filled with nothing but old stuff!!)
& so many more I'm either forgetting or haven't experienced yet.
For months I've been obsessed with Prims, one of Stampingtons new publications.
I even bought some paper clay to make doll heads.  Well when I spotted this darling shop called
Plum Creek Primitives I had to check it out.

The owner Bonnie has the place decked out for fall.
She has an awesome selection of dolls, furniture & accessories, but the cutest thing in her store by far was......
her greeter, Maggie!
So after picking up a couple of gifts for my Sister, I headed over to Smitten.

This shop really takes your breath away!
Karen has filled her store with a perfect combination of luxurious linens,
supplies.....

collectibles.....

and beautiful handmade treasures!
This trip was a last minute meeting with Cindy & Angela to discuss Wicked Tea business.
 (shopping makes me think clearer)
We were on a very tight time schedule. There were so many other shops I wanted to visit, maybe next time.
So I showed you the where & the who,
do you wanna see the what????
You know me, I can't just window shop....
I was in a junk induced frenzy so I have no recollection which store I purchased each item from.
I do know that all 4 stores got a bit of my mad money!

Boxes anyone??
I cannot pass up a great old box, drawer,

or suitcase!
This one is tiny, a child's travel case.

It's now holds my collection of child themed  cabinet cards.
Like these!
That I had to bring home.
I had to, they were ridiculously cheap priced really well!

A glass negative to add to my collection.

Beautiful vintage grosgrain & velvet ribbons.
In my favorite non-colors!

This was my find of the day!
Look at this book, someone loved it so hard they stitched up the cover when it was torn!
Now that's altered art.

Okay, maybe these were my favorite purchase.

Just so many cool things calling my name.

'Lisa, take us home'...

Speaking of my obsession with 'Prims'......
one of my favorite artists featured from the magazine is Susan Pilotto of Mouse Droppings.

Did you know she is hosting her 1st ever give-away?
Check it out!

Simply amazing!
How can I pick a favorite? Yep, I think that sewn up book ranks right up there, but the garters are pretty killer, too.

Dang, you and me would get in SO much trouble if we lived within an hour of each other!

Call you this week...

XO,
Me

Wow, you found some great stuff! I would love to get suggestions on where to go junkin' in the San Antonio area! Just moved here from CA earlier this year and so far have only made one trip to Gruene and one to Fredericksburg.

I was about to forgive you for going without me but then...
but then I see you scored on some velvet ribbon and you made me all jealous again ;)
I'm calling Kevin. And the kids. There's got to be something I can blackmail you with so you stop getting me in a tizzy with all these beautiful finds!
(or you just mail them all to me and we'll call it even)

I'm lonesome.
I think I'm moving to Texas.
soon.

OK, that does it. I'm going to McKinney next weekend! We went out to Mineola on Saturday, mostly because I NEEDED some peach custard from Ham's Orchards on the way :)

Where do you shop in Burleson? We go through there on our way to Antique Alley in Cleburne, but haven't shopped Burleson before.

I grew up just south of Ft. Worth. Going back in September to visit my dad. Your post makes me look forward to doing some shopping. He even told me recently that he found a place in FW that had things like the old skeleton keys that I use in necklaces. Can't wait to see the kinds of shops he comes up with!

Hey you! I have missed you. I'm covered in grit and grim right now, but had to come by long enough to thank you for your sweet message and to see what all I have been missing here at your place.
I'm a little light headed from looking over and reading about the great shopping in Texas. I knew it was great, but I didn't know just how great. I can't even believe the wonderful old stuff you found.
Now all my 'stuff' just looks like stuff.hehe
My daughter has free flights anywhere in the US and she can get me anywhere I want to go, so I'm thinkin' Texas next Spring! (If I can stand to leave Landon that long) My son-in-law had better not opt for a new job anytime soon. I so would love to meet some of you Texas gals and hear those darling accents in person.
I know you will be creating some more gorgeous stuff for us to see soon...so I'll be checking in...A LOT.

Lisa,

Your finds are divine!!!
I am totally in love with that little wooden box!!!

I think it's secretly calling me.

What a mousey!! Love that little face.

I just bought a book from the 1800s that had pages sewn back together. How sweet that someone loved it so much that they repaired a page. Of course, it didn't stop me from ripping into the book and tearing out pages myself...
