Kansas or Bust!

One of these days the snow is going to melt & the sun will once again show her pretty face.
To celebrate the arrival of spring, Karla is hosting a weekend of fun, food & creativity called

I'll be teaching my Nature Pouch project.

I made this bag last winter during a snow storm.
Sound familiar?
Once you learn how to weave them you'll want to make bunches!
I used the same technique to make this memory bag in honor of my Mother.
I used bits of her old coat, watch & other treasures. It holds her bible.
I don't mind telling you I'm a wee bit intimidated to be teaching alongside Carol Spinski & Debbie Dusenberry.
They are stars to me, totally inspiring!
(Karla's nest banner)
Ms. Nathan is no slouch either!
(Carol's fringe tree)
These projects will chase your winter blues away!
There will be lots of yummy food, snacks, goodie bags & a vendor shopping night.
It will be very surreal to actually be inside 'Karla's Cottage' after reading about it on blogs & in the mags for years.
I'm going to attempt a hat count.
Hum....that could be a great contest, whoever comes closest wins a hat from the hoarder herself.
(If she'll give one up)

To find out the details go to Karla's blog here.
Better hurry tho, I heard half the spaces are already sold!

Lisa,

I adore your project! I sad beyond sad because I don't think I am going to be able to come. My daughter just got engaged and is getting married mid June and I think all my class/travel money will be channeled into the wedding fund. Oh well, maybe next time. I know you gals will have a wonderful time and it will be a fantastic class. I hope to catch up with you at another event.

I actually gave one up to Beth yesterday! She was making gift bags all day for our Bird Song event. I even plucked the hat for her.

You are right, that would be a fun contest. A little like counting the jelly beans in a jar. I think we might do that as a game for the attendees!!!!

Well, it stinks to high heaven that I had to back out due to all the calamities on this end. But I know it will be an amazing weekend with amazing women!

And you more than can hold your own alongside anybody, Ms. McIlvain! Don't ever forget that!

Off for now, our pipes froze again this morning!

Just look at these lovely bags that you create, just to name a few. They are gorgeous.

Go and have fun and come back and tell us all about it!!!

Lisa you are going to have the time of your life. What a dream it would be to get to spend time with Karla...at her house...with her 'stuff'. Pure magic I am sure.

I laughed at your last post and you sobbing when you read the school closures. It reminded me of this sweet mom that came with my daughter this weekend to craft in my studio and get a break from her children. She has four year old twins and a two year old. She kept saying "I want to stay for a week, does that make me a bad mom". LOL! I assured her it was normal and that I understood completely because I had raised six of my own.
BTW I loved your little redneck snowsuits!!!
love ya...

Hey girl, there is absolutely NO reason for you being intimidated! Your artwork is awesome and you certainly are a star as well!
I LOVE your nature pouch, Lisa! It's gorgeous and I wish I could come over to play with you.
Hopefully the snow is gone in your area and you get some more time for yourself again :-).
Big HUGS,
Julia

I'm sure it will be a most wonderful weekend. Wish I could be there :(

I was thinking about you today as I watched the weather channel again... Holy Smokes! Are you freezing your tuschy off like the cartoon in Charlene's email???

Congrats on the teaching gig ~ And the one for Paper Cowgirl. I was determined to get there this year, but it's the same weekend we're planning to celebrate my niece's birthday in NJ at the beach. I guess I'll try again next year!
When will you be hosting classes at your home? I'd love to take another one of your classes - hint, hint :)

Lisa, I think your project is spectacular! What a wonderful event that will be! Unfortunately, I can't attend, but I volunteered to contribute to the goody bags of each participant.

I don't think you'll be able to get a count of the hats...they're displayed everywhere and stacked deep into the cabinet. I mean it...I've been there and they're tribbles.

Can't WAIT to see you!

Hi Lisa
Just got back last night from AZ, it was 2 weeks of sunshine and beautiful weather... it is sleeting here this morning, back to reality.
Karen and I got together for a little junking and lunch one day last week. Had a lot of fun and I found the most wonderful hanging cupboard for my computer room I am redoing.
Hope you have a great Sunday
Bless you

Lisa,
This is wonderful. I love your Nature pouch and love the one you did for your mother. I wanted to go to this soooo badly and I am just not sure what will be happening with Jud at that time. Such is life but I am disappointed. You are a very talented group of teachers, each in your own unique way and I would love creating each project. I know this is going to be great fun and I am hoping that you will do it again. have brothers in KC and this would be so easy for me to do.
Have a wonderful time!
Hugs,
Suz
